The School Age Youth Services staff would like to welcome you and your family to HAAF, Georgia.

School Age and Youth Services is prepared to serve the Army community by providing recreational and leisure activities that support the mission of HAAF and satisfy the leisure needs of youth.

Youngsters participating at School Age and Youth Services will find activities which encourage a life full of fun and wholesome leisure experiences. Many activities are held in the Youth Center located on Rocky Rd. between Hunter Lanes and the Credit Union. In addition, various programs will utilize Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) facilities, as well as local recreational sites and parks.

SAYS Membership

Open to youth family members of active duty or retired military, National Guard members, Army Reservists and Department of Defense civilians. In order to participate in programs or facilities, all youth must be members of School Age Youth Services. Each member will receive a membership card which will allow use of all the facilities and programs offered.

Youth Center
The Youth Center is the place to go for youth, ages 11-19, to enjoy activities such as billiards, bumper pool, video games, table games, dances, contests, special events, tournaments, theme parties and cultural events. Youth development programs offer Boys & Girls Club programs, Community Service, Teen Council, Life Skills, and Sports & Fitness.

Youth Development offers programs to meet social and developmental needs for all school age children. 

Summer Programs 

Each summer, School Age Youth Services offers a wide variety of programs and activities designed to teach youth new skills, develop new leisure activities or just to have fun. Swim lessons, swim team, golf, tennis, weight training, sports camps, crafts classes, and tae kwon do are just some of the activities offered as part of the summer program. Registration for the summer program begins in May and activities begin in mid-June.

Special Events

Easter Egg Hunt
Each Easter, on the Saturday before Easter Sunday, the Easter Bunny visits HAAF and leaves Easter eggs for all the youngsters at the Annual School Age Youth Services Easter Egg Hunt.
Fall Festival
Come celebrate the beginning of Fall with games, fun, and excitement at the Youth Center.
Christmas Party
Santa Claus drops by the Youth Center during the days before Christmas each year to let SAYS members tell him what they want for Christmas. He usually leaves each child a small gift or goodies to go along with the refresh- ments and other party activities.

School Age Services Program

The School Age Services Program is designed to provide age-appropriate recreational, educational and overall fun activities for children, ages 6-12, before and after school. The program also operates full time during school holidays and vacations.
Children enrolled in the program are well supervised and involved in organized activities, including arts and crafts, cooking, dancing, painting, sports, movies, exercise and field trips to local points of interest. A quiet time is also incorporated during which children relax or do homework and computer labs.

 Youth Sports Programs

The sports program is conducted with emphasis on safety, participation, fun and good sportsmanship. All teams are coached by volunteer coaches who must be certified under the National Youth Sports Coaches Association before coaching. All participants will be furnished with a basic uniform, evaluated, assigned to a team and guaranteed a specific amount of playing time.
The program is designed to provide all youths the opportunity to participate, develop fundamental skills and grow in an atmosphere of sportsmanship, citizenship and team work.
Medals are awarded to all members of any team.
Fees for all sports programs are as follows: $25/one child, $23/two children.  Fees will be paid at CYS Central Registration Bldg 1279.
